‘Throw those curtains wide. One day like this a year would see me right.’ Sing along with this performance from Glastonbury 2008. So joyful. (Song deserves a better video though.) 😉
Good Stuff From London And Beyond

It’s Friday Feeling time. This week it’s Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page coming together to perform Bolero and Immigrant Song at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
One of the best songs ever. And a very worthy ‘Friday Feeling’. 😉
A chance to hear the song again, with a Rory Gallagher history lesson thrown into the mix. (Spanish skills required!)
Be sure to also check out the live version from Isle of Wight Festival too.
One of the most underrated Billy Joel songs. Lovely. And with the sun shining in London at the start of a weekend, it’s my (jazzy) Friday Feeling. 😉
Lemmy, Bowie and now Prince. This is too much. 🙁 One of my favourite Prince songs of all time, ‘She’s Always In My Hair.’ <3
Here’s comedy Prince, with The Muppets! 🙂
This is a classic. And definitely not for the kids! Sheila E and her band covering Prince’s Erotic City.
Love’s ‘Alone Again Or’. Wistful and Pretty. And the trumpet solo is like the cherry on top. Hard to believe this came out in 1967.
The whole album is fantastic. Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing is probably my favourite track on the album. And it’s my Friday Feeling this week.
How did I miss the the first time?! Henry Rollins on BBC’s HARDtalk with Stephen Sackur from 18th January 2016. Well worth a watch. And it’s available for nine more months here via BBC iPlayer. Yesssss.
Still processing the loss of David Bowie. The Lorde tribute with Bowie’s own amazing band, was arguably the best of the bunch.
With Choir! Choir! Choir! singing Space Oddity at The Art Gallery of Ontario in close second. (Saw this being broadcasted on Periscope at the time. Brilliant.)
Which they followed up with an excellent version of The Man Who Sold The World. Bowie’s songs really translate well to choral music, don’t you think?
It’s Friday, people. How about this 1979 gem from Herb Alpert? Love the video. It’s like seeing your parents dance – in a good way. You can also check it out in HQ audio and the long version too.
